After you have taken a walking tour of the Bright Wallsvisited the shops, and grabbed a bit to eat, you’ll probably want a place to kick back, relax, and let the kiddos run around. Nestled in the heart of Downtown Jackson is Horace Blackman Park, which is the perfect place to take a little break while downtown.

Why we love it: With mural views, and some interactive spaces for the kids, you can’t beat this beautiful urban park. Many great events happen at this park throughout the year.
Features: Tables for relaxing or dining, a “we-saw” (a seesaw for four people), playable chimes, greenspace, amphitheater space, and excellent views of Downtown Jackson
“Big’s Review”: Try the “we-saw” – it’s so fun!
Elizabeth’s Suggestion: Order take-out from one of the downtown restaurants, or grab a coffee from Fortress Cafe, and walk to the park for lunch/dinner and some playtime.
Toddler Approved? Yes – just watch out for the busy streets.
Stroller friendly? Definitely.
Big Kid Approved? Yes!
Full Sun or Shade? A good mix of both.
Restroom? No restroom here, but there is one across the street at Bucky Harris Park.
