Why we love it: Well-maintained playground equipment with some unique pieces and beautiful green space with lots of mature trees
Features: Climber, zipline, standing teeter-totter, spinning bowl, swings, two infant/parent swings, one accessible swing, bouncing teeter-totter, pavilions for rental, ball fields, old-school playground equipment up the hill, benches, grills, restrooms
“Big’s” Review: This is a good place for little kids because the zipline platforms are lower to the ground. Take a spin on the merry-go-round up the hill.
Elizabeth’s Suggestion: We visited on a weeknight evening and found the park was less busy than during the weekends!

Closing Review: As we mentioned, Rod Mills Memorial Park is a popular location for local gatherings, and can be quite busy. However, this park is quite large, and there is a lot of space to run around and play! The Blackman Township website mentions there are hiking trails, so if the park is crowded, try your hand at exploring those. This playground offers a lot (some equipment that is found nowhere else in Jackson), and is the perfect kid-friendly destination that is worth a visit.
