We discovered Ahrens Park thanks to a tip from a Wonder and Wander follower. Nestled in Brooklyn near the Sharonville State Wildlife Management Area, we found what might be the most toddler-friendly park in Jackson County. Keep reading to learn more about this local gem!
Editor’s Note: We originally shared this park in a blog post in 2021, and are thrilled to pull it from the archives to share it with you again. This park is still one of our favorite parks to visit with toddlers!

Closing Review: I was excited to find this park because it is the perfect place for Little to play. There’s just enough equipment to make it fun, and the climber is not too tall or intimidating. Even though this park is best suited to younger children, Big still had fun and found ways to entertain himself while visiting. The park’s remote location makes it a quiet but beautiful place to play!
