Once a year, a small corner of Jackson is transformed into an enchanted kingdom. Thousands of fairies, pirates, elves, and princesses from Michigan, Ohio, and beyond show up for the Fairy Festival hosted by Jackson School of the Arts. We welcome you to join us for a weekend full of marvelous magic! The 16th Annual Fairy Festival will be held on Friday, April 28, and Saturday, April 29, at 135 W. Cortland Street.

The event was created with children and families in mind and is a place where lasting memories are made. Everything we do at Jackson School of the Arts is about encouraging children to think creatively and become their best selves through the arts. It is no wonder that imaginations soar at this event.

With the help of our wonderful sponsors, donors, volunteers, and much hard work, we are excited to host the Fairy Festival at our spacious new building for the second year in a row!

Magic Activities

Boys and girls alike always find Fairy Festival full of wonderment, and their grown-up companions can’t help but rediscover the child inside themselves as well! Friday and Saturday will both include face painting, art projects, fairy tea parties, and more. This year, Friday will be a VIP day with extra activities and benefits and a ticket cost of $35 per attendee. Some of the extras include juggling and aerial hoop performances, a theater production of “Neverland”, and smaller crowds. Saturday’s ticket cost is $15 per attendee and will include our typical fairy festival activities, outside vendors, and downtown businesses offering special activities or deals.

Scavenger Hunt Expanding Into Downtown Jackson

As a way to expand Fairy Festival outside our own walls and bring more exposure to our Downtown businesses, we have a bonus adventure for all Fairy Festival Participants on April 29th.

For those that have purchased a ticket for Fairy Festival, you will receive a treasure map detailing out your scavenger hunt guide for exploring the wonderful businesses located in Downtown Jackson. On this map, you will see various crafts, discounts, and fun ways you can continue to support Jackson School of the Arts while also supporting our great local business neighbors. We sure do live in a great community!

Fundraising Purpose

During this magical time, our staff and volunteers transform our building into a fantasy world for our biggest fundraiser of the year. The funds raised from Fairy Festival are used to support tuition scholarships for students at Jackson School of the Arts. We award over $11,000 in scholarships every month, and we need the community’s continued support to provide affordable, quality education in the Visual Arts, Dance, Theater, and more to Jackson County youth.

Over the last two decades, our local non-profit has provided opportunities for children from all socio-economic backgrounds to thrive with the arts. Our goal is not necessarily to create the next generation of artists or performers. Instead, through these programs, we empower local young people to learn problem-solving skills, confidence, poise, focus, and dedication through fun experiences in the arts.
