Back in January, we spilled the beans about one of Michigan’s best-kept secrets – the Michigan Activity Pass. If you missed that blog post, you can check it out here:
Michigan’s Best Kept Secret: The Michigan Activity Pass

Searching the MAP can be a bit overwhelming since it contains hundreds of locations, but never fear – Wonder and Wander – Jackson is here. Come along with us as we highlight locations included in the Michigan Activity Pass in a series we’re calling “The MAP’s Treasures”.

Belle Isle is the next MAP Treasure we are exploring here on The Adventure Blog. Just over an hour away from the Jackson area, Belle Isle features the Belle Isle Aquarium, Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, Dossin Great Lakes Museum, Belle Isle Nature Center, the James Scott Memorial Fountain, and more! With playgrounds galore and plenty of inside options, Belle Isle makes the perfect destination no matter the weather or season.

A recreation passport is required to enter the grounds. No recreation passport, no problem! MAP pass holders receive free admission to everything on Belle Isle! Now that’s a treasure!

Closing Review: I visited Belle Isle on a chilly day after a major Michigan Snowstorm, and spent ample time in the aquarium and conservatory. I can’t wait to head back to the island with the kiddos once the temperatures warm up. With all of the attractions on the island and ample kid-friendly options, this will be a fun day trip you’ll want to make annually!
